Technology is an important part of the Treasury function. Have you considered what factors are in play in choosing and implementing a Treasury Management System (TMS), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), or other technology system into your practice? These professionals on our panel have: Brent Gacek at Parkland, Carin Eggertson-Thai at ATCO, and Kamla Aggarwal, consultant at TC Energy. Join them and hear what it takes to make a successful implementation in a panel discussion moderated by our very own board member Farrah Panjwani from Parkland. The event will be held on April 16, 2024 at the Calgary Petroleum Club starting at 3:00pm sharp. See agenda below.

Our popular panel exchange promises to be engaging by focusing on how these companies performed an in-depth analysis of choosing a new technology provider followed by implementing it within their treasury team and business partners.

Moderator – Farrah Panjwani, CTP, MBA, Risk and Assurance for Supply, Trading and Refinery Finance, Parkland Corporation

Farrah is a seasoned finance professional who brings nearly two decades of finance expertise to the table, with extensive consulting experience in the US and a decade-long tenure in finance and treasury in Canada. In the US, she provided financial analysis, strategic planning, and expert testimony support for commercial disputes for Fortune 500 companies, while in Canada, her focus has been on treasury, capital markets, banking, and corporate risk and strategy. With a background spanning director roles at Parkland Corporation and ATB Financial, she has excelled in risk assessment, project management, and financial modeling. Farrah currently serves on the AFP board in Calgary.

Panel – Brent Gacek, MBA, Global Cash Management, Parkland Corporation

Brent is an established business leader and innovator with over 23 years of experience in Treasury, Finance, Audit, and Management Consulting for best-in-class organizations across multiple industry sectors. With an MBA specializing in innovation and leadership, Brent has held a wide range of leadership roles in Treasury and Finance responsible for developing and executing strategy, treasury transformation, risk management, and setting financial objectives and performance targets for organizations. Brent is an accomplished speaker and has presented on the topics of treasury transformation, digitization, and blockchain, most recently for AFP chapters across western Canada.

Panel – Carin Eggertson-Thai, CTP, Manager, Treasury, The ATCO Group of Companies
Experienced treasury professional with a decade of expertise in optimizing processes and maximizing cash management efficiency at ATCO. Recently completed successful implementation of Kyriba as our new TMS system from our legacy system/manual management. Passionate about continuous improvement within treasury operations with the use of Kyriba. Outside of work, find me indulging in the exhilarating world of competitive horseback riding and celebrating the spirit of the Calgary Stampede.

Panel – Kamla Aggarwal, MBA, PMP, Principle, Mastermind Consulting (Consultant for TC Energy)
Kamla Aggarwal is a seasoned treasury program delivery leader with over 20 years of experience in managing executive stakeholders and delivery teams. Kamla has led the selection and implementation of a variety of treasury management systems including FIS Treasury and Risk Manager, FIS AvantGard, SAP Treasury and Risk Management, Serrala Cash Positioning, Citi Treasury & Trade Solutions and Oracle Treasury.
