Cyber Security – Working in a new world

Smartphones, Tablets, Financial Apps, Wifi Hotspots and working remotely have been added to our vocabulary and work life in the last 10 years. We use them constantly in our daily routine and allow us greater connectivity than ever before. We depend on them to make our lives easier, to work remotely, to connect with others and to have fun. But what are the risks associated with these devices and our more mobile new world?  Karyn and Frank will show some of the current threats and highlight areas where people can make a positive impact on cyber security to protect your devices against those threats.

Frank Mueller Bsc - Manager Cyber Security Cenovus Energy

Frank Mueller is the Manager of Cyber Security at Cenovus Energy Inc., a Canadian oil company.  Frank has a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from the University of Calgary in 1988.  His career spans over 25 years in Information Technology working at four different Oil & Gas companies and a North American trucking company.  He has been leading the cyber security practice at Cenovus since 2015.

Karyn McPhee CISM, CISA, CISSP, BA, BSc. – Specialist, Cyber Security Cenovus Energy

Karyn McPhee is a specialist within the Cyber Security Team at Cenovus Energy Inc., a Canadian oil Company.   Her career spans over 20 years in information services and security working at companies in the United States and Canada with a focus on engaging participants to change key risk behaviors when using technology at home, at play or at work.  She has been working with the team at Cenovus since 2017.
